American Idol Contestant Chris Golightly Kicked Off Idol
American Idol Contestant Chris Golightly was kicked of of American Idol season 9. When the showed aired and announced its final 24 contestants Chris Golightly was mysteriously replaced by Tim Urban a 20 year old from Duncanville ,Texas.
The mystery of why Chris Golight was replaced on American Idol has been resolved and the news has been released to the public. It so happens that Chris , the 26 year old shoe salesman from California was pulled when producers found out that he already had a recording contract which makes him ineligible to be on the show.
If this news was known back in the summer of 2009 then Chris Golightly would never had been allowed to audition for the widely popular show American Idol.
The contract caused a major problem for the Fox television network, because Golightly had been selected as one of the 24 semi-finalists who will be singing live next week, the first time public voting will start in Season 9.
On Wednesday night, the network aired footage of Golightly celebrating on stage with the other 23 semi-finalists, even though he was never shown meeting with the Idol judges to learn whether he had made it to the Top 24.
Idol host Ryan Seacrest failed to inform television viewers that Golightly had been booted from the show. Perhaps the folks at Fox assumed no one would notice the lightning-quick swap?
Also uncertain is why Urban was chosen to replace Golightly. On Wednesday’s show, the final spot for the top 12 males was portrayed as a choice between Andrew Garcia and Thaddeus Johnson. Garcia, believed by many to be a serious contender for the finals, was chosen.
